Hicran Hanim is on a mission to preserve Anatolian culture, it's history, and help it's people. We were instantly enchanted by her. She had such an interesting face, very Turkic; and a charming way of speaking. She told us all about the changes to the wall and other sites. Every portion of the tale ended with "I could not stop them." I wish I had been able to record everything she said. We went back there on Thursday to see her again. She showed us around her old Ottoman house, which is set up as a little museum called Til-Tur Culture House. She gave us a history lesson using needlework illustrations on the walls to help explain.
